Egret West Studio has submitted an application to build three residential towers in Croydon, with the tallest reaching 42 storeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The South London project, submitted on behalf of Croydon Developments Ltd, is part of the wider Fair Field masterplan and is located near Fairfield Halls and Croydon College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to 676 new apartments, the proposal called “Tapestry” includes flexible ground-floor spaces for retail, cafes, and restaurants, a primary healthcare facility, and a nursery. The project also involves creating new public spaces and landscaping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Egret West Studio acts as the architect and landscape architect for the project, while planning consultancy DP9 is involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other participants include monitoring and evaluation consultant Hoare Lea, QS Core Five, and structural consultant Whitby Wood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Previously, the site was intended for development by the former municipal housing company Brick by Brick, which was owned by the council but was liquidated several years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 2019 planning application from MICA Architects for a five-unit residential complex was approved by Croydon\u2019s planning committee in April 2020, but the project was not realized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later, in 2021, the council sold the site for approximately \u00a320 million.
